The local theatrical scene waits for YADA’s mega show happening glamorously every 2 years. YADA has raised the bar of dance spectacles in Malta, stepping up in choreographic brilliance, dance en masse, technological splendour and fierce dancers. Since 1997, YADA has produced shows that are synonymous with artistic quality and have been versatile in the themes produced. Firedance stomped the stage, Moulin Rouge moved the public, Dirty Dancing made the patrons stand up and dance, Strait Street made it blush…
DIVAS is YADA’s very-near dance celebration – to be performed at the MFCC fromthe Friday 28thMichael Jackson Forever sending the audience to a concert-like dance show that celebrated Michael’s joy, childhood, professionalism, love, life, his immortal music and his dance heritage. DIVAS will also be a hedonistic soundscape of women and men DIVAS who sparkle ad infinitum in glitz, class, voice exuberance and regal stage presence. Dynamic rhythms of voices the likes of great singers: Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Elton John, Cher, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston and Beyonce’. All music inspires choreography, dance, movement, theatre, lights, sound, special effects and pumps the night away to make the audience sing to, dance to and recall their memories in the world of force and fabulosity. It will be nostalgic, sizzling, endearing, romantic and powerfully gripping. With a majestic cast of over 250 dancers, local and foreign performers, Circus Acts, in new costumes, new repertoire, new technological magic and a myriad of innovations, DIVAS will open its doors for theatre bookings in January 2014 with ticket prices starting from 12 euros to VIP tickets at 45 euros, for the comfortable capacity of every pocket – big majority of seats will be tiered and the stage will be close for all to be part of.
Felix, creator and producer of show, says “This is the reply of YADA, the reply of women who speak loud and speak heroically, the joy in our lives, our failures and the ability to re- create, re-vive, re-born and re-establish what is truly important in our lives inspired by these amazing voices accompanied by some of Malta’s own DIVAS …”.
Costumes designed by Vassil Petriiski, Adelina Abdilla and Doris Mercieca, lights by Nexos, sound by Waves Enterprises, visuals by Engelbert Grech, make-up by Justin Brincat and choreography by Felix Busuttil, Nina Winter, Daron Galea, Justin Roy Barker and Elaine Falzon will certainly enhance the show that without any doubt will be sold to capacity.
